DR SUNITA Dhote,professor
at Ramdeobaba University and
apassionate fitness enthusiast,
has once again demonstrated
her determination and
endurance by successfully
completing theBharat Race
held in Chandigarh.
TheBharatRaceisdescribed
as afirst-of-its-kind fitness
hybrid event conducted by
Indiansand for Indians.The
challenging race combined
runningwithfunctional fitness
stations,testing participants’
strength, stamina, agility and
mental endurance.
The event included repeated 700-metreruns followed by
demandingworkout stations.
These included barbells hang
clean and press,a50-kg sled
pull, 50-cm boxjumps,a 55-kg
tyreflip over 50 metres,60-
metrebroad burpees,10-kg
walking lunges and 50 repetitions of 4-kg wall-ball shots.
Dr Dhote credit sher achievement to the constant guidance
and support of her coach, Dr
Anil Trivedi, physiotherapist
and her friend and philosopher, Dr Rajendra Jaiswal.
She attributes her success to
the unwavering support by the
university authorities, her
brother Ganesh Kshirsagar,
husband Nitin Dhote and sons
Tejas and Rajas.
Dr Dhote, who is 54 years
old, has participated in three
HYROX events in succession
over the past six months. She
is also the first female Iron man
70.3 athlete and a10-kilo metre sea swimmer fromVidarbha.
