AIDEF launches 4-day nationwide protest against Labour Codes

ALL India Defence Employees Federation (AIDEF) launched its four-day nationwide agitation against the four Labour Codes, on Monday. The primary demands of the movement include scrapping the four Labour Codes, restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), filling up vacant posts, withdrawal of corporatisation and providing 100 per cent compassionate appointments. As part of the protest schedule, a gate meeting was organised on the first day, followed by a call to wear black badges on February 10 as a mark of protest. On February 11, employees will spread awareness among the workforce during duty hours, and on February 12, employees will mark their presence at the factory one hour late to further strengthen the agitation. In the first phase of the programme, a gate meeting was held at Vidyanagar Gate of GCF.
 
The main speakers at the meeting were Raja Pandey, Amit Chandel, Vivek Shukla and Devendra Pratap. Addressing the gathering, Raja Pandey, Executive Member, highlighted the issues faced by the factory and stressed the need for their resolution. Amit Chandel informed about the anomalies in the Labour Codes and discussed their adverse impact on employees. Union leaders Uttam Vishwas, Secretary, JCM Council, Saikat Banerjee, Krishna Kumar Sharma, Birbal Singh, Ashish Vishwakarma and others were present during the protest
