The members of Eastern Maharashtra Bank Retirees Association (EMBRA) will be holding a demonstration from 10 am to 1 pm at Samvidhan Chowk, near Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Civil Lines on February 11. The bank retirees are protesting against the Governments apathy towards their long standing problem of upgradation of their pension among other demands.
This was revealed by Shyamsunder Butolia, General Secretary of EMBRA while addressing the media on Monday. Other EMBRA office bearers including Milind Joshi, C R Iyer, S P Tiwari, O P Verma, Santoshkumar Dubey and others were present.
He further said that the public sector bank retirees are also demanding total exemption in Goods and Services Tax (GST) on retiree insurance. One more pension option for the remaining bank retirees. Another demand is the apex level Grievances Redressal Mechanism in Indian Banks Association and that pension should include special allowance for post 2012 bank retirees.
