MAKRAND Shete’s century powered Shikshak Sahakari Bank to convincing 8-wicket win over UCO Bank in the 58th Bankers’ Sports Council organised Inter-Bank Cricket Tournament at the City Gymkhana ground. UCO Bank elected to bat and scored 147 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. Milind Wankhede top-scored with 47 runs while Swapnil Jivtode made 31 and Yogesh Paikrao added 17.

 

For SSB, Girish Gadam, Girish Vithalkar and Sagar Trivedi picked up one wicket each. In reply, SSB chased down the target in 13.2 overs, riding on a magnificent century by Shete. After scoring an impressive 81 runs in the opening match against Union Bank, Shete (104, 51b, 16x4, 3x6) once again delivered a fine performance, registering the first century of the tournament with 17 fours and 3 sixes. Girish Gadam (18) and Girish Vithalkar (17) were the other contributors. For UCO, Shilanand Gajbhiye and Milind Wankhede picked up a wicket each.
