AG GUJARAT blanked AG Chhattisgarh while AG Rajasthan stunned runners-up AG Madhya Pradesh to register their first wins in the IA&AD West Zone Football Tournament which is being conducted by the Office of the Accountant General (Audit II), Maharashtra, Nagpur under the patronship of Dattaprasad Shirsat, IAAS, Accountant General. The tournament is being played at South East Central Railway Stadium, Motibagh,. AG Gujarat drubbed Chhattisgarh 3-0. Deepesh Pun of AG Gujarat opened the account when he got a cross from the left flank in front of goal mouth to place it in the goal in 1st minute.

 

Anikit Javalkoti consolidated the lead in the 4th minute when he got a cross from Rohan Kachhap to make it 2-0. In the 2nd half, Digvijaysingh Rathore sealed the fate of the match in favour of AG Gujarat 3-0, in the 61st minute, when he got a feed from Rohan Kachhap to place the ball in the goal. Rohan Kachhap of AG Gujarat was awarded player of the Match. AG Rajasthan shocked AG Madhya Pradesh 2-0 with Ajay Saini scoring a brace. Saini put Rajasthan ahead when he snatched the back pass from Madhya Pradesh near the D and scored the goal in the 1st minute. Saini put the final nail in the coffin with a solo run from 40 yards in the last minute of play. He Saini was awarded player of the match award. Two matches will be played on the third day of the tournament with AG Gujarat taking on AG Rajasthan at 09.00 am and AG Maharashtra locking horns with AG Chhattisgarh at 11.00 am.
