Major CRACKDOWN, Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar leads 400 personnel in midnight raid; 31 notorious outlaws, 8 women nabbed following violent resistance
Staff Reporter :
In one of the most significant law enforcement operations in recent months, a massive police force led by Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar stormed the Irani Dera at Aman Colony in a late-night raid. The operation resulted in the arrest of 31 notorious criminals and 8 women who reportedly attacked police personnel to obstruct the crackdown. The raid was executed following intelligence inputs that criminals wanted for serious offences across various districts and states were seeking refuge in the locality. Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar supervised the co-ordination, while the ground operation was spearheaded by DCP Zone-4 Mayur Khandelwal.
The specialised task force comprised 9 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 16 Inspectors, and a massive contingent of nearly 400 police personnel. To prevent escapes, the entire area was cordoned off in a pre-planned tactical manoeuvre before the search teams moved in.
During the process, local residents, including a group of women, allegedly pelted stones and attempted to physically block the officers. However, the force successfully overpowered the resistance and proceeded with the arrests.
Wanted criminals netted: Out of the 39 arrested, officials confirmed that many had been absconding for years. “The haul includes five permanent warrant absconders who were collectively carrying seven pending warrants. Several individuals are also wanted by interstate police departments, some with active bounties on their heads,” a
senior police official stated. The department is currently verifying the criminal history of the detainees to link them to unsolved cases.
