As part of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Ramdeobaba University (RBU) and Hiroshima University, Advanced Transdisciplinary Immersion Programme was held from January 13 to January 25, 2026, at Hiroshima
University, Japan. Designed exclusively for third-year students, the programme included 8 participants and faculty Dr Jayu Kalambe.
This immersive experience combines academic learning with cultural exploration, offering students valuable insights. The academic curriculum consisted of a series of lectures delivered by faculty members from Hiroshima University, along with invited guest experts.
The programme covered a broad range of domains, including Informatics, Data Science, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and Biomedical Engineering, in addition to hands-on training in 3D printing and autonomous robotics.
The laboratory visits included the Machinery Dynamics Laboratory and the Digital Monozukuri Center, providing exposure to state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies. Industry-aligned learning was another core component of the programme.
An industrial visit to Mazda Motor Corporation offered a look into advanced automotive engineering and large-scale manufacturing processes.
The visit commenced at the Mazda Museum, where students explored the company’s historical evolution and the foundational philosophy that guided its transition from a local cork manufacturer to a global automotive leader.
The visits bridge academic knowledge with real-world applications, inspiring students to explore careers in advanced manufacturing.
