HOSTS AG Maharashtra blanked AG Chhattisgarh 3-0 to top the table with six points from two matches while AG Rajasthan and AG Gujarat shared a point each playing a 1-1 draw on third day of the ongoing Indian Audit & Accounts Department (IA&AD) West Zone Football Tournament, on Wednesday. The event is being played under the aegis of Office of the Accountant General (Audit II), Maharashtra, Nagpur under the patronship of Dattaprasad Shirsat, IAAS, Accountant General. These matches are being played on Round-Robin basis at South East Central Railway Stadium, Motibagh and the event will conclude on February 13. In the match between AG Maharashtra and AG Chhattisgarh, Akbar Siddhique opened the former’s account with a well placed goal in seventh minute of play. Zahid Akhtar fed him the ball from top of the box.
 
The same combination gave the team a 2-0 lead in the 16th minute with Siddhique scoring again. In the second half, Aakar Dhanu scored third goal of the match to make it 3-0 when he got a pass from Jang Bahadur Singh. Afzal Akhtar of AG Maharashtra was named Player of the Match. In match between AG Gujarat and AG Rajasthan, Prateek Sharma of Rajasthan opened the team’s account with a classic header in the 22nd minute when he got a rebound from the goalkeeper from a direct kick from Ajay Saini. Deepesh Pun of Gujarat scored the equaliser in the 29th minute. Rajasthan goalkeeper could not hold on to a 20-yard powerful kick by Ankit Javalkoti and the rebound was collected by Pun. Shashank Mamgain of Gujarat was adjudged Player of the Match. Gujarat, who have played three game, are at the second spot with five points while Rajasthan are placed third having four points, also from three matches.
