The CPSU Vendor Development Programme (VDP) was organised recently at MIDC Industries Association’s (MIA House), Hingna, Nagpur. The two-day programme was conducted by the MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Nagpur in association with MIA, DICCI Nagpur and COSIA Nagpur.
The programme aimed at strengthening the participation of MSMEs in public procurement and integrating them into the supply chains of Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs).
The programme was inaugurated by Dr V R Sirsath, Director, MSME-DFO Nagpur, in the presence of Gopal Wasnik, President, DICCI Nagpur; Sachin Jain, Executive President, MIA; and Nitin Alshi, Secretary, COSIA. The event was coordinated by Y B Baghel, Deputy Director, MSME-DFO Nagpur.
In his inaugural address, Dr Sirsath emphasised the Government’s commitment to promoting MSMEs through policy support mechanisms such as the Public Procurement Policy, Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS), and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). Senior officials from leading CPSUs participated in the programme and delivered detailed presentations outlining their procurement requirements, vendor registration processes, eligibility criteria, quality benchmarks, and upcoming tenders.
The participating CPSUs included Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd, IOC, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bharat Dynamics Limited, WCL, MECL, MOIL, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, and Food Corporation of India.
