Adulthood is often treated like a finish line...as if one day you wake up and are suddenly supposed to feel more confident, more responsible and certain about your life. But that is rarely the case. Most people don’t feel ready and they just keeping sliding forward anyway.
We grow up believing that adults have answers. That they know how to manage money, relationships, careers and emotions without constantly questioning themselves. But the truth is,
adulthood is mostly improvisation. People are making decisions based on incomplete information, limited time, and a lot of fear.
Social media makes this worse.
We see curated lives that look stable and settled, and we assume we are behind. But readiness is rarely visible. What we see as
confidence is often just familiarity.
People aren’t less scared. They’re just used to the fear. Feeling unprepared doesn’t mean you are failing...it means you are aware. It means you understand that choices matter.
Adulthood isn’t about being ready, it is about learning as you go, making mistakes and forgiving yourself for not knowing everything at once.
If you are waiting to feel ready before starting, you might wait forever. No one really knows what they are doing. They are just brave enough to give it a try.
