SPINNERS Sahil Sheikh and Himanshu Kawale combined well to dismiss Assam for 210 in their second innings and ensure an innings win for Vidarbha in the U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy on Sunday.
Assam, who needed 158 runs more to make Vidarbha bat again, resumed on 57-1. Pradyun Saikia (62) and Parvez Musaraf (66) added 105 runs for the second wicket to raise hopes of Assam’s fight back.
But once Sahil dismissed Parvez and Pradyun was run out, Assam collapsed, leaving Vidarbha winners by an innings and five runs.
Sahil, who had claimed four wickets in the first innings, finished with match figures of 8-99.
Himanshu claimed 3 wickets for 54 runs.
