The recently concluded COMP-EX 2026 marked a defining moment in India’s public safety and smart governance journey as Nagpur Police unveiled ‘AI Nirikshak’, a next-generation Artificial Intelligence-powered command and crowd intelligence platform.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the Nagpur Police pavilion and was given a live demonstration of how this cutting-edge platform is set to revolutionize crowd management, public safety, and urban policing. During his visit, Fadnavis commended the initiative and expressed interest in scaling the deployment of AI Nirikshak across Maharashtra, particularly at mega-events like Nashik Kumbh Mela.
“This is the kind of innovation that will define the future of governance and public safety,” said the Chief Minister.
At the helm of this initiative is Commissioner of Police, Nagpur Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal, whose PhD in Crowd Management and deep field experience have played a pivotal role in the conceptualization and implementation of AI Nirikshak. His vision of transitioning policing from reactive models to predictive, AI-led systems has laid the foundation for a safer and smarter urban environment.
“This is not just a surveillance tool—it is a paradigm shift in how public safety will be managed across the country,” said Dr Singal. “We are entering a
new era where crowd behaviour can be understood, anticipated, and protected through
intelligent systems.”
AI Nirikshak has been developed through a strategic public–private partnership with Click2Cloud Technology Services India Pvt. Ltd., and is powered by Microsoft’s advanced AI and cloud technologies.
