‘C’garh Cheated in Union Budget’:
Chhattisgarh Congress President Deepak Baij has said that the Union Budget is disappointing for the people of the country and dedicated to corporate houses. There is nothing in the budget for education, health, or employment. Slamming the Union Budget he stated, it offers nothing for the state and amounts to “cheating” Chhattisgarh. Speaking on the budget presented by the Modi government, Baij said the stock market crashed immediately after its announcement because it failed to curb inflation or provide relief to the poor.
He highlighted stark regional disparities, accusing the government of favoring states with upcoming elections to gain electoral benefits. “Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has resorted to falsehoods,” Baij alleged, adding that the budget cheats
farmers too. Baij pointed out that the government did not reduce petrol and diesel prices or cut excise duties. He criticized repeated unfulfilled promises, noting that last year officials claimed to have lifted 25 crore people above the poverty line—and the same claim was repeated this time.
