Light rainfall was reported at isolated places in Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior and Chambal divisions, while the rest of the state remained dry. Madhya Pradesh experienced a mix of light rainfall, fog and temperature fluctuations over the past 24 hours, according to observations recorded at 8:30 am on Sunday. Morena district recorded the highest rainfall at 17 mm, followed by Porasa (15 mm), Seondha (14 mm) and Agar (11 mm. While day temperatures showed mixed trends across the State. Maximum temperatures fell by around 2–3°C in Shahdol division but rose by nearly the same margin in Rewa division.
In most other areas, no significant change was observed. Maximum temperatures remained below normal in Gwalior, Chambal, Rewa and Sagar divisions, while they were near normal elsewhere. Night temperatures increased noticeably across many regions. Minimum temperatures rose sharply in Shahdol division, while appreciable increases were also recorded in Gwalior, Chambal, Rewa and Sagar divisions.
Night temperatures were significantly above normal in Chambal division and well above normal in Narmadapuram, Ujjain, Gwalior and Shahdol divisions.
Khajuraho recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 7.8°C, followed by Rajgarh (9.6°C) and Nowgong (9.8°C). On the warmer side, Kannod in Dewas district recorded the highest minimum temperature at 18.3°C. Morena was the coldest during the day with a maximum temperature of 16.7°C, while Khargone recorded the highest maximum temperature at 30°C. Overall, the state’s highest temperature was 30°C at Khargone, and the lowest was 7.8°C at Khajuraho.
Dense fog was reported in Datia and Khajuraho districts, while shallow fog was observed in Rewa, Nowgong, Gwalior and Satna, reducing visibility during early morning hours.
In Bhopal, the sky remained partly cloudy with haze. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 26.6°C and a minimum of 15°C. No rainfall was recorded.
The weather department has forecast partly cloudy conditions with haze for the next 24 hours, with temperatures expected to range between 16°C and 27°C and winds blowing at 14–16 kmph.
According to the India Meteorological Department, a western disturbance is currently influencing northwestern India, along with an induced cyclonic circulation over Haryana and Rajasthan. Another western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from the night of February 5.
For the coming day, light rain or drizzle accompanied by thunderstorms is likely at isolated places in districts including Rajgarh, Guna, Gwalior, Morena, Rewa, Satna, Panna, Chhatarpur and Tikamgarh. Dense to moderate fog may persist in parts of Gwalior, Chambal, Rewa and Sagar divisions. The weather department has advised people to remain cautious during foggy and stormy conditions, avoid unnecessary travel during low visibility, and take safety precautions during thunderstorms. Farmers have been advised to carry out field activities only after fog clears and to protect crops and livestock from cold and excess moisture.
