PRIME Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a visionary leader, exceptional administrator and strategic thinker and his courage and governance guide everyone. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born on February 19, 1630 and founded the Maratha kingdom in 17th century. “On the Jayanti of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, we bow in reverence to the visionary leader, exceptional administrator, strategic thinker and champion of Swarajya. May his courage inspire us, his governance guide us and his spirit of justice and self-respect strengthen our society,” Modi wrote on X.

 

The Prime Minister emphasised that Shivaji Maharaj always placed the welfare of every single person above everything else and dedicated himself completely to their protection. Fadnavis, Deputy CMs join celebration at Shivneri Fort: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his birth anniversary at the Shivneri Fort in Pune on Thursday. The Maratha warrior king was born in Shivneri, located in Junnar tehsil of Pune district, in 1630. Fadnavis and his deputies attended various programmes, including the ‘cradle ceremony’, symbolising the legendary king’s birth and naming rituals, at Shivneri. A large number of followers of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj gathered at the fort to take part in his birth anniversary celebration. Rahul, Pawar hail Shivaji Maharaj: Leaders cutting across party lines, including Rahul Gandhi, paid tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his 396th birth anniversary on Thursday, lauding his foresight, leadership and role in igniting self-respect among people.

 

Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat offered floral tributes at the statue of Shivaji Maharaj at Lok Bhavan here. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, described Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as an embodiment of valour. NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar said Shivaji Maharaj ignited a spark of self-respect in the hearts of the common man. “True king of common people”: Rajnath Singh: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday paid rich tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his birth anniversary, hailing him as a symbol of courage, justice and self-respect. In a post shared on X, the Defence Minister described Shivaji Maharaj as the embodiment of “patience, valor, justice, and self-respect,” calling him a ruler who established Hindavi Swarajya and inspired resistance against injustice.

 

“Patience, valor, justice, and self-respect--their unique confluence is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj! The true king of the common people, who established Hindavi Swarajya and inspired the fight against injustice, who protected religion, the honor of women, and public welfare,” the post read. “Heartfelt congratulations on the birth anniversary of the noble warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj! Jai Bhavani! Jai Shivaji!” Singh further wrote.
