The Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 concluded in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday with the final publication of the electoral roll. Following a rigorous four-month campaign that began on October 27, 2025, the State now boasts a total of 5,39,81,065 registered voters. The data reveals a significant milestone in democratic participation, showing a net increase of 8,49,082 voters since the publication of the draft roll. According to the final figures, the electorate comprises 2,79,04,975 male voters, 2,60,75,186 female voters, and 904 third-gender voters. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sanjeev Jha stated that the revision was conducted with January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.

The process involved a massive administrative exercise where Booth Level Officers (BLOs) conducted door-to-door surveys to identify deceased, permanently shifted, or duplicate entries. Out of a total of 5.74 crore potential voters identified initially, enumeration forms were received from 5.31 crore citizens and fully digitised in mission mode. During the claims and objections period, held between December 23, 2025, and January 22, 2026, over 10.85 lakh additions were made, while approximately 2.36 lakh names were deleted following verification.

The exercise was supported by a dedicated team of 55 District Election Officers, 230 Electoral Registration Officers, and over 71,000 BLOs. CEO Sanjeev Jha congratulated the citizens for their unprecedented co-operation and assured that while the SIR 2026 list is final, voter registration remains a continuous process. “No eligible voter needs to worry if their name is missing; the window for additions and modifications remains open through both online and offline channels,” he said. Copies of the final list have been provided to recognised political parties in every district. Citizens can also verify their details on the official website.
