The Budget Session of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly will commence with Governor Ramen Deka’s address in the new assembly building in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar at 11.05 am, on Monday (February 23). Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr Raman Singh said that the Budget Session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly would be held from February 23 to March 20. A total of 15 sittings will be held. The Budget Session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly will begin with the Governor’s address at 11.05 am on February 23. Finance Minister O P Choudhary will table the State Budget for the financial year 2026-27 in the House at 12.30 pm on February 24.
 
The budget speech will be telecast live from Doordarshan Raipur and Akashvani Raipur. Discussion on Motion of Thanks on the Governor’s Address will be held in the House on February 25. General discussions on the State Budget for the financial year-2026-27 will be held in the House on February 26 and 27. Following this, discussions on department-wise demand for grant will be held from March 9 to 17.
 
The Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill-2026 will be tabled in the House on March 17, while March 18 has been set as the date for discussion and passage of Appropriation Bill. Three important bills including Chhattisgarh Dharma Swatantraya Vidheyak-2026 and Chhattisgarh Lok Suraksha (Upay) Pravartan Vidheyak-2026 will be tabled during the budget session. A total of 2,813 information regarding questions including 1,376 unstarred questions and 1437 starred questions have been received so far.
 
In addition, 61 notices of call attention motions, one notice for discussion on a matter of urgent public importance under Rule 139, 13 private members’ resolutions, nine notices of Zero Hour, and 112 petitions have been received so far. Obituary references for former MLA of undivided Madhya Pradesh Deendayal Singh Porte will be mentioned in the House, said Speaker.
