Hudkeshwar Police have registered a case of assault after a woman allegedly attacked her husband with a stick following a domestic dispute. The incident came to light on Friday evening. The injured man, identified as Pankaj (64), is a retired soldier who currently works as a security guard. His wife, Punam (48), has been named as the accused. The couple has a 15-year-old daughter. According to police, Pankaj had come to know about six years ago that Punam was allegedly involved in a relationship with another man.

 

This had led to frequent arguments between the couple. Since then, Punam had been living separately in a rented house along with their daughter. On Friday around 6.30 pm, Pankaj went to Punam’s residence to meet his daughter. When he reached the house, he reportedly saw a young man present there and became suspicious. He questioned Punam about the visitor, following which the young man left the spot. Police said Punam became angry after the confrontation and allegedly hit Pankaj on the forehead with a stick, causing injury.

 

Despite the injury, Pankaj went directly to HudkeshwarPolice admitted him to a hospital for medical examination and treatment. After receiving treatment, Pankaj formally lodged a complaint. Based on his statement, Hudkeshwar police have registered a case of assault against Punam. A police officer said, “We have recorded the complaint and started an investigation. Further action will be taken as per the findings.”
