The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, will be in city today to inaugurate a Statewide campaign of the Brahmakumaris aimed at strengthening trust, harmony, unity and human values in society. The formal launch will take place in the evening at the organisation’s Vishwashanti Sarovar campus in Jamtha.
The visit has prompted extensive administrative preparations across the city. A high-level review meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari to assess security, logistics and protocol arrangements related to the President’s tour. All concerned Government departments have been directed to maintain strict coordination and ensure compliance with prescribed procedures.
The event is expected to be attended by Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Senior representatives of the Brahmakumaris, including Additional Secretary Mrityunjay from Mount Abu, Rajyogini Chandrika Didi and Nagpur in-charge Rajyogini Rajni Didi, will also be present.
The campaign outlines eight guiding principles, including the creation of an addiction-free society, sustainable lifestyles, civic responsibility, value-based education, spiritual discipline through Rajyoga, environmental responsibility and harmonious communication. The organisation intends to implement the initiative through its centres at the tehsil level across Maharashtra.
Entry to the programme will be strictly regulated. Pre-registration is mandatory, and only registered participants will be permitted access upon production of original identification documents, including Aadhaar cards, in accordance with security norms for the President’s visit.
