The State is set for another day of scattered rain, thunderstorms, hail and fog as western disturbances continue to influence the state’s weather. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the current weather is caused by a cyclonic circulation over Punjab and Haryana along with a trough in the middle troposphere. These systems have brought cloudiness, isolated showers, thunderstorms, hail, and fog, while temperatures are gradually rising across most divisions. Over the next 24 hours, districts including Vidisha, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Ujjain, Guna, Neemuch, Gwalior, Rewa, Satna, Sagar and surrounding areas are likely to experience isolated rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning, with early morning fog persisting in several places.

Thunderstorms and lightning have also been reported in Rajgarh, Agar, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Guna, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Morena, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Panna, Vidisha, Ratlam, Ujjain, Ashoknagar, Rewa, Satna, Damoh and Sagar, while hailstorm activity was noted in Neemuch. Gusty winds reaching up to 28 kmph were recorded in Agar. Fog continues to reduce visibility in parts of the state, with dense fog reported in Chhatarpur (Khajuraho) and Morena and shallow fog in Gwalior, Ujjain and Rewa, creating a need for caution on roads and railways.

Maximum temperatures rose by 2-2.2°C in Bhopal, Gwalior and Chambal divisions, while minimum temperatures remain above normal in most areas. The highest maximum in the State was recorded at Khargone (30.2°C) and the lowest minimum at Pachmarhi (8.4°C). In Bhopal, the weather was partly cloudy with haze, with a maximum of 29.2°C and a minimum of 13.8°C, about 3°C above normal. Humidity was high in the morning, contributing to haze, and light winds of 8-10 kmph prevailed. No rainfall was recorded in the city over the past 24 hours. The India Meteorological Department has warned that these western disturbances will continue to influence Madhya Pradesh for another day, bringing isolated rain, thunderstorms, and fog across several districts. Residents are advised to exercise caution, particularly during storms and hail, while farmers are urged to take necessary measures to protect standing crops and livestock.
