Two were killed and five injured when a Hyva truck fell from an over-bridge onto a car travelling on the service road below. A motorcycle passing at the same time was also crushed under the truck. The accident was held on Jabalpur-Bhopal NH-45 in Shahpura around 45-kilometres from Jabalpur, on Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as hyva driver Ankit Mehar Singh Malik (31), a resident of Rohtak, Haryana and motorcycle rider Balram Fakirchand Awasthi (64), a resident of Natwara, Jabalpur while
five occupants of the car
were injured.
Learning about the incident, Shahpura police immediately reached the spot and started a rescue operation.
The injured persons trapped inside the car were safely pulled out and rushed to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
SHO of Shahpura police station, Praveen Dhurve informed that the members of Shukla family from Bhopal were on their way to attend a wedding ceremony in Rewa in a car bearing registration number MP-04YK-9547. Five people, including a woman, were traveling in the car.
According to TI Dhurve, in the preliminary investigation police have found that the accident occurred due to negligence on the part of the Hyva truck driver. Shahpura police have registered a case while further investigation is underway.
