Weapons and drones used during Operation Sindoor attracting crowd
From India manufactured Main Battle Tank (MBT) model to small arms, and from indigenously made Frigates models to Kamikaze drones, all are attracting Nagpurians in the ongoing Advantage Vidarbha Khasdar Audyogik Mahotsav 2026 inaugurated on Friday at University Campus at Amravati Road.
Major Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and private defence products manufacturing companies -- Yantra India Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited, Mazgaon Dock Ship Building Limited, Heavy Vehicle Factory Chennai, Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited, Munition India Limited, Troop Comfort Limited, DND Enterprises and India Optel Limited -- participating in the event with their state-of-the-art defence equipment.
Indian Army’s new uniform on display
The Indian Army’s new digital pattern combat uniform, introduced in 2022, is on display at Troop Comforts Limited (TCL) stall at the venue.
The uniform is a modern, lightweight design intended for improved comfort and camouflage across diverse terrains. The uniform is designed by NIFT and manufacturing by TCL and other vendors.
Locally manufactured Pinaka rockets attract crowd
All the three variants of Pinaka Rockets -- Pinaka Mk 1, Pinaka Mk1 (Enhanced) and Pinaka Guided -- are on display at Nagpur’s Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited pavilion in Advantage Vidarbha 2026. Similarly, Nagpur’s Yantra India Limited (YIL) also displayed its Pinaka Mk 1 variant in the event. The Pinaka rockets supplied by these two companies to Indian Army were extensively and successfully used by the Indian Army during Operation Sindoor in May 2025 to destroy Pakistani supply lines, bunkers, and staging areas.
Kamikaze drones on display that wreaked havoc in Pakistan
Kamikaze drones (Loitering Munitions) like Nagastra, Vijayastra and Rudrastra, all manufactured by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited and extensively used by the Indian Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor, attracted huge crowed on Day One of the Advantage Vidarbha 2026.
Nagastra I, which was used by Indian Army during Operation Sindoor, was on display whereas its advanced version, the Nagastra II is also showed on the pavilion. Nagastra II can cover a range of 25 kms, with 4 kg of anti tank warheads, for 90 minutes is surely going to be a game changer in future wars.
Similarly, Vijayastra, a surveillance drone, is capable to fly on a altitude of 30,000 ft with 1000 plus km range for 34 hours was also displayed by Solar Group.
Other equipment like, Ballistic Briefcase, Long Range Thermal Imaging Sight, Passive Night Vision Goggle, Hand held Thermal Imager, Binoculars, small arms, 130 mm shells, 155 mm shells, models of Ajeya T-72 tank, Bhishma T-90, MBT Arjun Mk-1A tank etc. were also on display.
