Jabalpur police conducted a meeting of all the hotel operators and managers to ensure implementation of Supreme Court guidelines pertaining to the use of sound systems and JD during the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination in the district. The meeting was conducted under the direction of Superintendent of Police, Sampat Upadhyay. Chairing the meeting, Additional SP (City), Ayush Gupta informed that the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Regular/Private) for the year 2026 will be conducted at examination centres in the district. During the examinations and preparations, students will face disturbances in their studies due to the uncontrolled use of loudspeakers. During the meeting, all hotel operators/managers were instructed to adhere to the Supreme Court guidelines regarding sound use.

It was emphasised that the use of DJ systems will be completely prohibited. The use of loudspeakers will be allowed only until 10 pm, with permission from the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate of the area, but this permission will be granted for a limited period and in a restricted area. Besides this, no more than two sound boxes will be permitted for use during this time. The permission granted will apply only to the event premises. Hotel operators/managers were also advised to ensure that the use of sound systems is managed in such a way that it does not cause any disturbance to others, with the sound confined to the event area. They were further instructed to arrange for parking in such a way that traffic flow is not obstructed.
