Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta on Sunday said the Union Budget 2026 is inclusive, people centric and future oriented, providing a strong foundation for a Developed and Self-reliant India.
Addressing a press conference, he said the budget reflects the aspirations of every section of society, including the poor, farmers, youth, women, middle class and entrepreneurs.
The Minister said Budget 2026-27 will be remembered as a historic budget that gives concrete shape to the vision of a Developed India. He added that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has presented budget for the ninth consecutive time. He called it a proud moment in India’s parliamentary history.
Highlighting women empowerment as a major focus, Tamta said the Government has moved beyond slogans and made women central to policy and decision-making. Provisions for women hostels in every district, training of caregivers and allied health professionals, support for women-led enterprises and expansion of Lakhpati Didi scheme will strengthen women’s economic participation.
He said that the middle class has received major relief through reduction in customs duty on 17 life saving cancer medicines, easier TDS procedures and lower TCS on foreign travel and overseas education under the LRS scheme.
For youth, the budget focuses on skill development and employment through new content creator labs, support to MSMEs, tourism skill training and sports development. Agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries have also been strengthened through technology driven initiatives and income
enhancing measures for farmers.
He said the budget has much to add to on-going development of Madhya Pradesh.
The Union Minister further said investments in semiconductors, chemical parks, healthcare, defence, aviation and urban development will boost growth, jobs and global competitiveness. He added that Budget 2026 should be seen as a nation building effort aimed at making India one of the world’s leading economies.
