The death toll in the explosion at SBL Energy Limited, an explosives and ammunition manufacturing company located in Raulgaon in Katol tehsil, has risen to 23 after another injured worker died during treatment on Monday, Nagpur rural police officials said.
The officials said that the deceased has been identified as Seema Vijay Dhurve (27). She had suffered around 70 per cent burn injuries in the blast and was undergoing treatment at Orange City Hospital in Nagpur. Despite continuous efforts by specialist doctors, she succumbed to her injuries on Monday.
Earlier, two other female workers had died during treatment on Saturday and Sunday, increasing the number of casualties after the incident.
Meanwhile, 12 injured workers are still undergoing treatment at Orange City Hospital. According to doctors, these patients have suffered serious burn injuries ranging from 30 to 70 percent. Some of them have also suffered severe internal organ damage, and doctors are making all possible efforts to save their lives, the officials said.
