Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav virtually inaugurated solar-powered modern traffic signals at major intersections in the city. The inauguration was conducted remotely from the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Convention Centre by pressing a remote button. The solar-operated traffic signals have been installed at four key junctions of the city at Jabalpur Hospital Crossing, Paryatan Chowk, Madan Mahal Chowk and Bajnamath Chowk. The initiative aims to reduce road accidents and ensure smoother traffic management in the city. Officials said the new solar-powered signals will help regulate traffic efficiently while also promoting the use of renewable energy.

At Paryatan Chowk, officials inspected the newly installed signal system. Santosh Shukla, DSP (Malviya Chowk), along with Traffic Police Station SHO, Shashi Dhurve (Ghamapur Traffic), Arun Patel (Malviya Chowk Traffic) and Subedar Rahul reviewed the arrangements. They also issued necessary instructions to technicians regarding appropriate signal timing based on traffic flow to ensure smooth traffic movement. The traffic police have appealed the residents to strictly follow traffic signal rules which will help maintain a safe and well-organised traffic system in the city.
