THE National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, and the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote mutual cooperation. Under this MoU, both institutions will collaborate in the areas of capacity building and training of engineering faculty, curriculum development and teaching innovation, quality assurance and accreditation processes, and collaborative academic and research.
NITTTR Bhopal will also contribute to the formulation, implementation of policies, plans, and setting necessary standards and regulations for the smooth functioning of engineering courses in Nepal. On this occasion, Prof C C Tripathi, Director of NITTTR Bhopal, and Prof Dr Padma Bahadur Shahi, President of the Nepal Engineering Council, formally signed the MoU.
Speaking as the chief guest on this occasion, Mrityunjay Behera, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, Government of India, said that this is a historic occasion when institutions from both countries will work together to improve the quality, mobility, and global recognition of education for Nepali students. He stated that Nepal’s accreditation to the Washington Accord will gain global recognition, and India will provide its full support in this process.
Dr Padma Bahadur Shahi, President of the Nepal Engineering Council, said, “On behalf of the Nepal Engineering Council, I appreciate the support and contribution of NITTTR Bhopal. India’s outcome-based education model is an inspiration for Nepal. Nepal has always received positive support from India.” Dr R Ranganath, Mentor of the Nepal Engineering Council on behalf of the Government of India, said that this partnership with NITTTR Bhopal will significantly contribute to the development of technical education and professional standards in both
countries.
Prof Tripathi said on this occasion that today the world is going through a period of change, this agreement will help in providing global competence and recognition to Nepal’s engineering students and will also promote quality and innovation in engineering education and research at regional and international levels. The engineering profession is extremely important for our shared future, and we are committed to serving the country through better education, training, regulation and support. Prof Sanjay Agarwal, Prof P K Purohit, Prof Manish Bhargava, Prof Ashish Deshpande, and Major Nishant Ojha from NITTTR Bhopal, along with Eng. Dhruba Raj Bhattarai, Registrar of Nepal Engineering Council were present on this occasion.
