The Railways provided timely medical assistance to an ailing woman passenger.
Demonstrating humanitarian sensitivity, Jabalpur division of West Central Railway (WCR) ensured a safe journey for an ailing woman passenger by providing timely medical assistance. According to information received through 139 Rail Madad that Lalita Devi, travelling in seat 37 of coach B-7 of train number 07092, had suddenly fallen unconscious. The Railway administration immediately responded. Upon arrival at Jabalpur Station, Railway physician Dr Sandeep immediately examined the passenger. Her oxygen level was found to be approximately 40, indicating a very serious condition.
The doctor advised immediate hospitalisation. Following this, the railway administration immediately arranged for an ambulance and sent the passenger, along with her son, Amlesh, to Omega Hospital for treatment, where they were immediately treated. On March 13, the patient’s son, Amlesh, contacted the station manager’s office and requested an oxygen cylinder for his mother during her journey to
Secunderabad for further treatment. Station Manager Sanjay Jaiswal and Deputy Station Manager Balwant immediately arranged for an oxygen cylinder.
The patient was transported from the station via battery car to seats 73 and 76 of coach M-3 of train number 03225. With the help of nursing staff, the oxygen system was set up and the woman passenger’s safe journey was ensured. The patient’s son, Amlesh, expressed his gratitude to the railway administration for the timely assistance provided by the promptness and cooperation of the railway staff. This incident demonstrates that Indian Railways places the highest priority on the safety and health of passengers and is always ready to assist in every situation.
