A speeding bus collided head-on with a motorcycle in the Berasia area on Friday morning, resulting in the tragic death of a married couple. The impact of the collision was so severe that the victims were flung approximately ten feet into the roadside bushes. Both died on the spot before any medical assistance could reach them. The deceased have been identified as Mohar Singh Raikwar, a farmer and resident of Manikhedi Gunga village, and his wife.
The incident occurred around 11 am near the Tarawali junction while the couple was travelling from Manikhedi to Nandgaon village to visit a relative. According to eyewitnesses, the bus was travelling at an excessive speed when it struck the motorcycle. Following the crash, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene to evade arrest. Local residents immediately alerted the police, who arrived shortly after to secure the site and manage the aftermath. Berasia Station House Officer (SHO) Virendra Sen confirmed that a case has been registered. “The bodies were sent for post-mortem and subsequently handed over to the family members for the final rites. We have seized both the bus and the mangled motorcycle for investigation,” SHO Sen stated.
