FIRE broke out at a residential house in the Borsi area of Durg on Saturday morning, prompting a swift response from the fire brigade, which managed to control the blaze and avert a major accident. According to information, the incident occurred at around 11:00 am at the residence of Raj Ratan of Panchsheel Society, Borsi, Durg. The fire was first noticed by locals, who immediately informed the fire control room in Durg. Upon receiving the alert, a fire brigade team was promptly dispatched to the spot.
 
When firefighters reached the location, they found that the flames had already spread to different parts of the house and smoke had filled the premises. Acting swiftly, the fire personnel entered the smoke-filled house and safely removed two LPG cylinders, preventing a possible explosion. The team then brought the fire under control using a fire engine. N K Singh, District Fire Officer told the newspaper that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and further investigation will be carried out by the police.
 
House owner Raj Ratan said the fire erupted in the garage of the house but was swiftly contained by the district fire brigade. He noted that the timely intervention prevented the blaze from escalating into a major incident. According to him, the fire was likely triggered by a short circuit, while the loss reported in the incident was minimal.
