Woman sexually exploited under pretext of marriage in Misrod; accused absconding

A 33-year-old woman was allegedly subjected to repeated sexual exploitation under the false pretext of marriage in the Misrod police station area. Following a formal complaint by the victim, the police have registered a case of rape and initiated a manhunt for the accused. According to the police, the victim, originally a resident of Betul district, had moved to the capital for employment after her divorce approximately five years ago.
During this period, she came into contact with a youth identified as Golu through social media.
The interaction deepened when they discovered they were distant relatives.
The accused allegedly lured the woman into a relationship by proposing marriage. Believing his promises, the woman agreed to live with him in a rented accommodation in the Misrod area. The victim stated that the accused continuously exploited her sexually over the past ten months, repeatThe situation took a turn last month when Golu’s behaviour changed abruptly. When the victim pressured him to formalize their union through a legal marriage, the accused flatly refused and fled the city, leaving her deserted.
