Marking International Women’s Day, West Central Railway’s (WCR’s) Bhopal Railway Division operated Bhopal-Bilaspur Express with an all-women crew, highlighting growing participation of women in Railway operations. The train departed from Bhopal Junction Railway Station at around 10:15 am from platform number 5, with all key operational roles handled by women employees. The initiative was aimed at promoting women’s empowerment and recognising contribution of women working across different departments of the Railways. The train was flagged off by Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Traction Operations) Sachin Sharma, who welcomed the women crew members and felicitated them with bouquets and garlands before the departure.
 
The crew included Nutan Kumari as loco pilot, Megha Thote as assistant loco pilot, Sangeeta Koli as train manager and Rashmi Magarde and Manisha Sahu as travelling ticket examiners. Officials said the initiative reflects increasing role of women in Railway operations and their ability to efficiently manage key responsibilities. Senior officials of the division, including Station Director Babulal Meena, Chief Loco Inspector Rakesh Chaubey, station managers and union representatives were present on the occasion. Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria said women employees are successfully contributing across multiple departments in the Railway system through dedication and professionalism.
