Ruhi Mitali excel in Pink Marathon

RUHI Ramekar and Mitali Bhoyar excelled in the Pink Marathon organised by Nagpur Municipal Corporation to celebrate International Women’s Day and to honour women’s power at Yashwant Stadium on Sunday. Ruhi won the 5 kilometres run and was followed by Himanshi Bawne and Risha Ramekar at the second and third places respectively. In the 3 kilometres run, Mitali secured the first spot while Anjali Madavi and Bhavashree Mahalle finished second and third respectively. In the 2km fun run, Mansi Thakre, Pooja Dubey and Ashwini Pandey clinched the top honours as the marathon got huge response. Cash prizes were given to the first three winners and attractive prizes to the other winners. At the outset, the marathon, aimed to promote women’s health, confidence and empowerment, was inaugurated by social worker Amruta Devendra Fadnavis. Mayor Nita Thakre presided over the programme. Deputy Mayor Leela Hathibed, Standing Committee Chairperson Shivani Dani Wakhare, Construction and Projects Special Committee Chairperson Ashwini Jichkar, Legal Special Committee Chairperson Nidhi Telgote, Sports Special Committee Chairperson Darshani Dhawad, Women and Child Welfare Special Committee Chairperson Sarika Nandurkar, Water Supply Special Committee Chairperson Divya Dhurde, Education Special Committee Chairperson Santoshdevi Laddha, Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Vasumana Pant, Additional Commissioner Vaishnavi B, Deputy Commissioner Milind Meshram, Deputy Commissioner Dr Ranjana Lade along with other officers and employees of the Municipal Corporation were present Fadnavis, who enchanted the audience with her singing, asserted that if women are healthy, society will be strong. On this occasion, corporators Shakeel Patel, Pawan Koye, Kalpana Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Dr Gajendra Mahalle, Deputy Commissioner Mangesh Khawale, Medical Health Officer Dr Deepak Selokar, Sports Officer Dr Piyush Ambulkar, Fire Department personnel, Head of the Nuisance Squad Veersen Tambe were also in attendance. The programme was moderated by Dr Richa Sugandh. Result (Top Ten in that order) 5km run: Ruhi Ramekar, Himanshi Bawne, Risha Ramekar, Mrinali Burade, Navya Chitale, Sania Khan, Arnavi Mahalle, Prerna Kale, Jagriti Kamble, Janhvi Kharabe. 3km run: Mitali Bhoyar, Anjali Madavi, Bhavashree Mahalle, Janhvi Bawne, Pooja Panchbudhe, Nikita Shahu, Snehal Joshi, Bhuvaneshwari Masram, Swati Panchabudhe, Sanjana Joshi.
