AS PER the directive of Director General Fire Services, Civil Defence & Home Guard Ministry of Home Affairs Government of India, Fire Service Day was observed recently, at the National Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur, marking the beginning of Fire Service Week from April 14 to 20, 2026. The occasion was dedicated to commemorating the supreme sacrifices made by fire service personnel in the line of duty and to spreading awareness on fire safety among the public.

 

The chief guest Surendra S Kshtriya, Director (Finance), MECL along with Dr A R Sontake, Professor and Director, NFSC, paid homage to the martyrs of fire services who laid down their lives while performing their duties with courage and dedication. The chief guest Surendra Kshtriya and Dr A R Sontake flagged off a fire vehicles rally from the campus. During the Fire Service Week, NFSC will conduct various activities such as fire safety awareness campaigns and outreach programmes.
