Pagariya Strikers have roped in former India all-rounder Stuart Binny as its Director of Cricket Operations and head coach for the Vidarbha Premier League Season 2.
The franchise-based T20 cricket tournament, which will be organised by Vidarbha Cricket Association, begins from June one at VCA’s Jamtha Stadium. Six teams will vie for top honours in the 15-day tournament.
The auction is going to be held on May 3. Pagariya Strikers have retained Yash Kadam, Mohd Faiz Sheikh, Aditya Ahyuja, Lalit Yadav, Sooraj Rai and Pushpak Gujar. Last year, Neco Master Blaster defeated Pagariya Strikers by
seven wickets to lay their hands on the coveted trophy.
For the coming season, last edition’s runners-up Pagariya Strikers appointed Binny to look after the cricketing part.
The franchise announced Binny’s appointment on its social media handle. “Every strike needs the right mind behind it. With Stuart Binny stepping in as Team Director for Cricketing Operations and Head Coach, the focus is clear, the intent is stronger, and every move now carries purpose,” the franchise wrote.
The Karnataka cricketer has played three T20Is for India and is a veteran in franchise-based T20 leagues.
He has represented Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Indian Premier League. Binny has also played in US Masters T10 League.
