TOP Seed Anvi Dongarkar will lock horns with second seed Sejal Thadani in the Under-17 girls singles final of the ongoing Yonex-Sunrise GH Raisoni Memorial Nagpur District Summer Amateur Badminton Tournament under way at RTMNU’S Subhedar Hall in Ravi Nagar. In the semi-finals, Anvi got the better of Avani Peshkar 21-18, 17-21, 23-21 while Sejal ousted Diya Alwani 18-21, 21-19, 21-16. Meanwhile in men’s singles, Aayush Durgpurohit, Ravi Jaiswal, Kabir Awale and Tanmay Gawande made it to the semi-finals. In the women’s singles category,

 

Asawari Bhalerao and Sneha Sahasrabuddhe and Sansktiri Siriah made it to the last four on the penultimate day of the competition. In the quarter-finals, Sneha was lucky to get a bye while Sanskriti defeated Sharvari Rasekar 21-9, 21-7 to move into the semis. Asawari Bhalerao quelled the challenge from Sayali Khandekar 21-12, 21-9 to book semis spot. In the men’s category, Kabir Awale ousted Gulshan Pahade 21-15, 21-8 and Durgpurphit beat Yadnyesh Bhakre 21-13, 21-13 to enter the last four. Similarly, Ravi Jaiswal defeated Rishi Kanta 21-10, 21-19 and Gawande beat Ojas Jainabadkar 21-12, 21-9 to complete the semis line-up. In Under-9 boys singles, Shaurya Chitlange defeated Shaurya Mudliar 21-4 21-6 and Ayansh Karare ousted Kiaan Wahi 21-16, 21-11 to enter semis.
