Ayush Priya of DPS Bhilai with 99.2 per cent marks has topped Class 12th Board result in district dominated by girls, as the girls outshine boys in the results of Class-XII examinations declared by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday afternoon. The wait finally ended for over 5,000 students across Durg district. Parents, schools and administration were awaiting the result eagerly. Students going for admission to post-XII programmes were facing problems due to the delay. With the declaration of results, those handling admission to university-level courses have heaved a sigh of relief. Class 12th examinations were conducted between February 17 to April 10 in the district. Around 5,000 students had appeared in Class XII examination from 15 centers in the district. This time, the performance of the Raipur region fell short of the national average. In the Raipur region, 80.88 percent of students passed, whereas the national average pass per centage was recorded at 85.20 per cent; this means the Raipur region lagged behind the national average by 4.32 percent. Raipur’s performance was also weaker than that of several other regions, such as Pune, Lucknow, and Ranchi to name a few. As usual girls have dominated boys in every single department and stream. But, Ayush Priya of science stream DPS Bhilai, stood overall topper as he scored 99.2 per cent marks in Class XII.

Akshita Garg of DPS Bhilai from Commerce stream stood second topper with 97.4% marks and Anushka Agrawal of commerce stream from SSV-X stood third with 97.2%, while Abhinav Keshwani with 97% from science stream of KPS Nehru Nagar stood fourth.
