Supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal on energy conservation and balanced use of resources, Chhattisgarh Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap on Wednesday said such messages should be reflected in governance practices and everyday lifestyle. The minister informed that he was presently using an electric vehicle (EV) to support environmental protection and clean energy initiatives. He also stated that solar panels had been installed at his residence to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources. Kashyap said India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership was steadily moving towards self-reliance, energy conservation and responsible use of resources.

He stated that limiting unnecessary consumption and maintaining a simple working style had long been part of his approach. The minister said that even after assuming office, he restricted the number of vehicles in his official convoy to two in an effort to avoid unnecessary fuel consumption. He further stated that additional vehicles allotted for use at his government bungalow had been returned to the department for better utilisation of public resources. Following the Prime Minister’s recent appeal, Kashyap also decided to discontinue use of the follow pilot vehicle during his Raipur visits except in essential circumstances. He said the decision was aimed at encouraging fuel savings and promoting responsible use of resources.
