Signalling a firm shift toward a performance-driven administrative culture, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday delivered a clear mandate to the newly-appointed office-bearers of various state corporations, boards, commissions, and authorities: build your identity strictly through performance and maintain an unblemished record. Addressing the gathering at the orientation and training programme at the Atal Behari Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis, the Chief Minister emphasised that the Government maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward misconduct and that public office must be treated as a medium for public service rather than personal privilege. Reiterating the administration’s strict stance, State In-Charge Mahendra Singh explicitly stated that the performance of all newly-appointed office-bearers would be continuously evaluated. He reminded the leaders that politics under their ideology is viewed as a mission rather than a profession, tasking them with operating these state institutions with the utmost integrity and making them financially self-reliant. To ensure that these high-level institutions reflect the Government’s credibility, Dr Yadav urged the newly-appointees to first thoroughly understand their departmental rules, policies, and responsibilities.

He explicitly advised them to maintain a strict distance from activities and individuals that could compromise their dignity. Senior MLA Hemant Khandelwal echoed these sentiments, appealing to the new chairpersons and members to strictly adhere to the austerity guidelines suggested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, using their administrative powers solely to fulfill public needs and advance larger public welfare. Addressing the fiscal side of governance, Chief Minister Dr Yadav identified financial management as a major challenge for state-run bodies. He directed the leaders to enforce strict financial discipline, aggressively curb unnecessary expenditure, and use innovation to generate completely new sources of revenue. Simultaneously, the CM highlighted technology as a primary pillar of modern good governance. He instructed the heads of corporations to rapidly transition toward digital governance, utilising data-based decision-making, technology-driven monitoring, and transparent digital delivery systems within their respective domains. He also encouraged them to actively engage on social media platforms to effectively showcase the government’s achievements.
