The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) launched a fierce protest at Rani Durgavati University (RDU) on Monday, locking down the Vice-Chancellor’s office. Led by NSUI In-charge Achal Nath, a large number of students gheraoed the university administration to protest two major grievances including a shocking evaluation scam and delayed scholarship registrations. The primary trigger for the agitation is a serious allegation of corruption in the examination evaluation process. Students have accused guest faculties of the Physical Education Department (BPEd) of fabricating marks. According to NSUI, these teachers were caught on camera sitting in a room, casually assigning arbitrary marks to students by mutual agreement without actually checking the answer sheets. The second grievance highlighted administrative negligence regarding the 2024–26 academic session scholarships.

The university is yet to initiate registration and form-submission process, leaving hundreds of financially vulnerable students in limbo and disrupting their education. The protestors submitted a memorandum to the university administration, demanding immediate termination of the accused guest faculty members within 24 hours, a complete, unbiased re-evaluation of the affected students’ answer copies, transparent investigation into the evaluation irregularities and strict action against the culprits and immediate commencement of the scholarship registration process for the 2024–26 batch. NSUI leader Nath made it clear that if the university fails to take concrete action within the 24-hour window, the administration will be held solely responsible for the massive, wide-scale protests that will follow across the campus. Several student leaders and members, including Jai Ahirwar, Johan Khan, Nikita Rajak and others were present during the protest.
