The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has revised the schedule of the State Service (Main) Examination 2025, deferring the examination dates by nearly three weeks and granting candidates additional time for preparation. As per the revised notification issued by the Commission, the written examination will now be conducted from June 6 to June 9, 2026. The examination was earlier scheduled to be held between May 16 and May 19. The change in schedule comes in response to repeated representations from candidates seeking more time to prepare after the preliminary examination. The examination will commence on June 6 with Paper I (Language) from 9 am to 12 noon, followed by Paper II (Essay) from 2 pm to 5 pm. On June 7, Paper III (General Studies I) will be held in the morning session, while Paper IV (General Studies II) will take place in the afternoon.

The schedule continues on June 8 with Paper V (General Studies III) in the first session and Paper VI (General Studies IV) in the second session. The examination will conclude on June 9 with Paper VII (General Studies V) from 9 am to 12 noon. The Commission has clarified that admit cards for the examination will be made available on its official website approximately 10 days prior to the commencement of the examination. Candidates have been advised to download their admit cards from the website, as no separate communication will be issued individually. Sources indicated that candidates had raised concerns over the limited gap between the preliminary and main examinations, pointing out that in previous years, a gap of around four months was generally provided. The extension is expected to provide relief to aspirants preparing for the crucial stage of the selection process. The revised schedule will see examinations conducted at designated centres across districts including Ambikapur (Surguja), Bilaspur, Durg (Jagdalpur) and Raipur, as per Commission’s plan.
