Four arrested for brutally killing

Vijayraghavgarh police solved a blind murder case within 72 hours. Police informed that on April 27, 2026, the complainant, Harish Sahu (son of Santram Sahu, aged 27, a resident of Village Bhainswahi), lodged a report at the Vijayraghavgarh Police Station. where he reported that on the morning of April 27, 2026, around 11:50 AM, his cousin (his paternal uncle’s son), Ramji Sahu, called to inform him that his father, Santram Sahu, had committed suicide by hanging himself with an electrical wire tied in a noose around his neck from a mango tree located on his field. Acting on this information, Case No. 19/2026, under Section 194 of the BNSS—was registered at the Vijayraghavgarh Police Station, and the deceased’s body was sent for a post-mortem examination. The post-mortem report, issued by the attending doctor, indicated that the death was caused by strangulation. Hence a criminal case was registered under Sections 103(1), 61(2), and 3(5) of the BNS, and the matter was taken up for investigation.
 
During the course of the investigation, based on circumstantial evidence, other evidences and information received - Pinky Kol (resident of Village Bhainswahi), her brother Ravi Kol, and Ravi Kol’s friends Ittu Bhatra and Monu Bhatra, were taken into custody for questioning. During interrogation, they confessed to having hatched a criminal conspiracy to brutally murder Santram Sahu. They admitted that Pinky Kol inflicted severe injuries to the deceased’s face and nose by striking him with a brick held in her hand, while Ravi Kol, Ittu Bhatra, and Monu Bhatra caused fatal injuries by looping a long electrical wire around his neck and pulling it forcefully. They further admitted that the motive behind the murder was an illicit romantic relationship between Pinky Kol and the deceased, Santram Sahu. All four accused individuals were arrested, produced before the Court, and on the Court’s orders, have been remanded to the District Jail, Katni. In solving this case, a team was constituted under the guidance of the S.P Abhinay Vishwakarma, ASP Dr Santosh Daheria and SDOP Virendra Dharve.
 
The team comprising Ritesh Kumar Sharma, SHO, Vijayraghavgarh Police Station), SI Ashwani Yadav, ASI Jagdish Pandey, Lady Constable Chanda Thakur, Constable Anjani Jha, Constable Pappu Prajapati, Majju Kol, solved this case.
