A passenger bus travelling from Seoni to Jabalpur plunged into a road-side ditch by the hillside, located on the bypass of the Chhapara Banjari Mata Temple, just beyond Chhapara, at around 6:15 pm on Thursday. As the uncontrolled bus plunged fell in the ditch, passengers screamed and panicked. Approximately six people were injured.

 

Passengers reported that when they questioned the bus driver, he stated that the steering had failed and that the bus lost control due to bad weather. To avoid a major accident, the driver steered the bus forward a little, narrowly avoiding a fall into a bigger ditch. The bus landed in a small ditch, close to the hillside. Although the bus did not completely overturn, the front of the bus was damaged and the windshield shattered. Some passengers suffered injuries from the shattered glass.
