Chhattisgarh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated the party’s unprecedented electoral success in West Bengal in a unique way on Monday by eating jhalmuri at the BJP’s Ekatma Parisar office. Party workers marked the occasion with dhol, firecrackers, and chose the popular West Bengal snack instead of traditional sweets and took out a victory parade.
Speaking to media persons, BJP State President Kiran Singh Deo congratulated Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his extended stay in West Bengal and for strategising the party’s campaign. He also expressed gratitude to the voters of West Bengal, Assam, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala for their support.
Kiran Deo described the results in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry as historic and termed them a reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and development agenda. He said the formation of a BJP Government with an absolute majority in
West Bengal marks a significant turning point in the state’s political history.
He further stated that the victory in West Bengal is a tribute to Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, and reflects the public’s endorsement of the vision of one constitution, one flag, and one prime minister. Referring to Assam, he said the people have once again placed their trust in the BJP for a third consecutive term, indicating that the North-East is firmly aligned with the path of development. Kiran Deo also termed the performance of the BJP and its allies in Puducherry as a victory of service and dedication. He thanked the central leadership, party workers, and the public for contributing to what he called a historic mandate. He added that the results signal a shift away from appeasement politics towards nationalism and inclusive development. Referring to West Bengal, he alleged that past elections in the state were marked by violence and restrictions on voters, and claimed that development had been hindered. He said that with the BJP coming to power, central government schemes would now be implemented effectively in the state.
