Jubilant celebrations have erupted across the State as the counting of votes in five states Assembly elections indicates BJP’s strong position in West Bengal and Assam. A festive atmosphere was witnessed at the BJP offices in major cities. At the BJP State headquarters in Bhopal Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav called it a victory of people of Bengal and people’s faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On the sidelines of the celebration BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal termed it the defeat of forces working against national interest. The BJP is on the verge of making history in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. Till Monday afternoon, the party maintained a lead in 195 seats, while Mamata Banerjee’s party, the TMC, appears to be limited to 93 seats. Following these trends, workers and party leaders started to gather at the party office in Bhopal. They celebrated various rounds of counting with drums and festivities, expressing their joy by exchanging sweets. The workers stated that the BJP’s lead in West Bengal would prove to be historic for the party, and its impact would be felt in national politics in the times to come. Vijayvargiya gets emotional BJP leader and Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya got emotional over the Bengal victory by saying, “I can’t express how happy I am.

Calling the BJP’s victory in West Bengal a “gift for the country,” Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the West Bengal had been in an atmosphere of lawlessness and fear for the past 15 years. He alleged that under Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, a situation similar to ‘jungle raj’ prevailed in the state. Amidst the festivities, senior party leader and Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya became emotional. During an interaction with the media, tears of joy welled up in his eyes. Vijayvargiya remarked that he had not even imagined that this moment would prove to be so deeply moving for him. He stated, “I cannot even express how happy I feel right now.” Sharing his trauma during his days in Bengal in last a few elections, Minister Kailash stated that during his active political career in West Bengal, numerous cases were registered against him. These include serious allegations like rape and child trafficking. Terming these cases a ‘political conspiracy’, Vijayvargiya asserted that such measures were taken with the intent of intimidating and suppressing BJP leaders.

Triumph of nationalism and democracy: CM Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday termed the results a triumph of nationalism and democracy. He alleged that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had consistently supported infiltrators and anti-national elements, asserting that this led to the electorate voting against the Trinamool Congress and in favour of the BJP. Party’s flag is rising in various states, it reflects people’s faith in BJP’s rule. On Assam (the BJP has secured a historic third consecutive term in, with alliance partners), he said that it is the victory of nationalist forces.
