BHEL Bhopal profit jumps 11% this year

Following the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited’s (BHEL) corporate-level performance in operation as well as in profit, BHEL Bhopal unit of State-owned engineering company reported a robust achievements for 2025-26, driven by higher order inflows, improved execution, and enhanced profitability across business segments. Sharing BHEL’s performance, Executive Director P K Upadhyay stated that the unit has reported a turnover of Rs 4,647 crore in 2025-26 compared to Rs 4,277 crore in 2024-25. Profit before tax rose to Rs 581 crore from Rs 272 crore, that is 11.4% higher to last year’s data. While cash collection increased to Rs 5, 530 crore from Rs 4,364 crore (that is remarkably high). Order inflows during the year stood at Rs 7,861 crore, up from Rs 6,312 crore in the previous fiscal. The unit’s order book as on April 1, 2026 was Rs 14,710 crore. He highlighted, first and foremost, the BHEL corporation’s achievement of generating a revenue of Rs 33,782 crore and a profit before tax (PBT) of Rs 2,116 crore in the year 2025-26. He said that thanks to the able leadership of BHEL Chairman and Managing Director K Sadashiv Murthy and the senior officials of the BHEL Board, this achievement by BHEL, accomplished amidst a fiercely competitive environment, is undoubtedly a matter of pride for all employees. At the corporate-level, BHEL’s revenue from operations rose to Rs 33,782 crore in 2025-26 from Rs 28,339 crore in 2024-25, marking a growth of around 19 per cent. profit before tax (PBT) increased sharply to Rs 2,116 crore from Rs 725 crore, while profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 513 crore, reflecting a significant turnaround compared to the previous year. The company recorded fresh orders worth Rs 75,916 crore during the year, reinforcing its order pipeline. As of April 1, 2026, the total order book stood at over Rs 2.40 lakh crore, indicating strong future visibility.
 
Highlighting operational milestones, General Manager (SOM), R K Agarwal, said “The Bhopal unit commissioned 88 transformers and rectifiers during the year. It also achieved a landmark by commissioning India’s first 500 MVA, 400/220/33 kV ICT without OLTC. The unit secured re-certification of NABL accreditation for its UHV laboratory, valid till December 2029”. Among key achievements, BHEL Bhopal received the EEPC Quality Award 2025 in the platinum category, the highest recognition, and also earned the ET Government PSU Leadership and Excellence Gold Award. The unit executed replacement of LPG and furnace oil with PNG, strengthening its sustainability initiatives, and received the Best Safety Project Award. Upgradation works in township facilities were also undertaken during the year. The company’s performance underscores a strategic recovery backed by strong execution capabilities, diversified order inflows, and a renewed focus on operational efficiency. With a robust order book and improved financial metrics, BHEL is positioned for sustained growth in the coming years. Upendra Kumar Singh, Additional General Manager (Publicity & Public Relations), was also present on this occasion. T U Singh, General Manager (HR), threw a light on employees facilities augmented in this year especially several measures and upgradation was carried at Kasturba Hospital. Interacting with the stakeholders present, Upadhyay extended his heartfelt congratulations to everyone for the achievements and profits earned by the Bhopal Unit during the financial year 2025-26. Praising the effective and efficient leadership of Director S M Ramanathan, he stated that the credit for this achievement of the unit goes entirely to him. He further added that the role of all sections of society, particularly the media, has been immensely significant in bringing BHEL, Bhopal to the stature it enjoys today.
