In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old boy was brutally murdered by two minors over a love triangle in the Vajpayee Nagar area under the jurisdiction of Kalamna Police Station, late Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Zoharan Mustafa Shaikh (17), a resident of Vajpayee Nagar, Kalamna.
According to police officials, Zoharan worked as a labourer and was in a relationship with a 17-year-old girl from the same locality. However, another minor boy also had feelings for the girl which led to tension between the two.
Police said, the accused had earlier warned Zoharan to stay away from the girl.
Despite the threats, Zoharan continued to speak with her. On Tuesday, around 11 pm, the accused called Zoharan to meet him in Vajpayee Nagar.
When Zoharan reached the spot, the accused, along with his accomplice, confronted him. An argument broke out between them, which quickly turned violent. In a fit of rage, the main accused stabbed Zoharan multiple times in the neck and chest with a knife.
Zoharan collapsed on the spot and died due to severe injuries.
After committing the crime, both accused fled the scene.
Upon receiving information, a police team from Kalamna Police Station rushed to the spot and conducted a panchnama. The body was later sent to a Government hospital for post-mortem.
Police have
registered a case of
murder and have detained the main accused, who is also 17 years old.
Efforts are underway to trace and detain the second minor involved in the crime. Further investigation is underway.
