THE Nagpur District Athletics Association celebrated World Athletics Day with a vibrant District Relay Tournament at University Ground, Ravi Nagar. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from budding athletes across various age groups, featuring thrilling mixed and category-specific relay races. In the Under-11 mixed relay, BC Athletics Club secured first place with Arnav Patil, Kavya Sonawane, Sarvesh Junghare and Swanandi Gadge winning the medals. Track Star Athletics Club finished second. Aakar Athletics Club dominated the U-13 mixed relay through Rishikesh Kendre, Vidhi Phulkar, Mayank Wankhede and Riya Singh winning the medals.

 

The club continued its winning streak in the U-15 mixed relay as well with Dhruv Chhatre, Krishna Yadav, Shivani Shetty and Palak Gavandar finishing on the podium. BC Athletics Club took second spot. Rising Sporting Club excelled in both U-17 and U-19 mixed relays while Khel Foundation emerged victorious in the open mixed relay. Rising Sporting Club also won the U-15 girls 4x200m relay and U-17 boys 4x200m relay. In the open men 4x200m, Khel Foundation, Nagpur finished on the podium. Dr Dhananjay Welukar was the chief guest of the prize distribution function. Dr Nitin Jangitwar and NDAA President Gurudeo Nagrale were guests of honour. Dr Sharad Suryawanshi and Ramchandra Wani also spoke during the closing ceremony.
