The Tilwara Police have successfully cracked a blind murder and robbery case within 48 hours, resulting in the arrest of two young men and detention of a 17-year-old minor.
The crime, which initially appeared to be a random act of violence, was fueled by a mix of old rivalries and a desperate attempt to fund a party.
The incident occurred in the early hours of May 5, 2026. According to the victim's wife, Laxmibai Basore, three unidentified youths on a motorcycle arrived at their residence in Jodhpur Padav. When she confronted them, they engaged in a physical altercation. When her son, Monu and her husband, Dassilal Basore rushed out to intervene, one of the attackers stabbed Dassilal in the abdomen with a knife.
Tragically, Dassilal succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a local medical college on the morning of May 5.
Under the guidance of SP Sampat Upadhyay and ASP Pallavi Shukla, a dedicated team led by SHO Brijesh Mishra utilized CCTV footage and technical surveillance to identify the suspects.
The police apprehended Shubham Pandey, 24-year old son of Shyam Sundar Pandey, a
resident of Shastri Nagar (behind Old Age Home) under Tilwara police station, 21-year old Sharad Barman, son of Mukesh Barma a resident of Durga Nagar, Bhatouli under Gwarighat police station and a 17-year-old minor.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the murder, citing an old rivalry as the primary motive. Furthermore, they admitted that while fleeing the murder scene, they approached two youths near the Junction Dhaba at Garha Railway Station. When the youths refused to give them money for a party, the suspects stabbed them and robbed them of their mobile phones.
The police also recovered 01 stolen mobile phone, motorcycle without number plate used in the crime, 02 button-operated China knives and 02 additional mobile phones used by the suspects.
The suspects have been booked under Section 103(1) of BNS and other relevant charges. The police team involved in solving the case has been commended for their swift and effective action.
