Demonstrating that determination and hard work can overcome even the toughest circumstances, Anjali Wadhe from a small village in Shirpur has achieved a remarkable milestone by graduating with a B Tech degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. Behind Anjali’s success lies the relentless struggle of her parents. With no agricultural land, her father Santosh Wadhe works as a daily wage labourer while her mother supports the family through tailoring work. Anjali is their only child. Coming from a financially challenged background, Anjali was well aware of her family’s hardships and dedicated herself entirely to her studies.

She pursued her education with unwavering focus. She attended a Zilla Parishad school where her academic brilliance became evident early on. She was eventually got into Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Washim in Class 6. Later, in Class 9, she was selected under the migration scheme and sent to Kota, Rajasthan, further shaping her academic journey. A significant turning point in her success came with the support of the Dakshana Foundation. She was selected for its scholarship programme in Class 11 which provided her with high-quality coaching for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). With this guidance, Anjali successfully secured admission in IIT Bombay, taking a major step towards fulfilling her ambitions.

Sharing her message for aspiring students, Anjali emphasises the importance of setting clear goals and maintaining discipline. She advises students to stay away from mobile phones and social media distractions, stating that patience and consistency are essential for achieving success. Anjali’s achievement has drawn widespread appreciation and stands as a powerful inspiration for students from rural backgrounds, proving that perseverance can turn dreams into reality.
